ras_author_credits

ras_author_credits returns an href(or not) list of authors with statistics as defined by attribute setting and form values.

Authors are defined as all users who have posted article data, file uploads, or images for the site. TXP's standard list attributes are supported including section and this_section, also a type attribute is available to discriminate amongst user privileges.
The type attribute's options must match exactly the available choices as displayed in TXP's user list options, as follows:

  • Publisher (1)
  • Managing Editor (2)
  • Copy Editor (3)
  • Staff writer (4)
  • Freelancer (5)
  • Designer (6)

Also integer values matching these or custom values can currently be from 0 thru 9. (0 = no privs setting)

Plugin releases for TXP 4.4.1

21 June 2011

Two plugins released for TXP Ver 4.4.1, ras_author_credits & ras_author_list.

These two plugins are very similar in what they will do on a basic level. With the exception of if_first_author and if_last_author functionality, ras_author_credits will do anything ras_author_list will do – hence two plugins to maintain the option of back compatibility.

On the other hand, ras_author_credits will do a great deal more than ras_author_list and is a significant improvement.

In the final analysis I decided to maintain the option of running these two plugins concurrently and pursuing ras_author_credits and ras_author_list as separate plugins, as to the wisdom of that? only time will tell.

ras_authors_credits

18 June 2011

A tag with capabilities quite different from ras_author_list.

A forum user that goes by pompilos , (forum link) requested some improvements to ras_author_list that amounted to a new or variant tag named ras_author_credits.

It is a better plugin in all respects with the exception of if_first_author – if_last_author functionality, which went by the wayside in favor of two deep sorting of the returned list of authors and stats.

The new plugin adds new attributes called active_only, which toggles filtering, select_by which restricts the returned list to a complex criteria set against an authors activity in terms of contribution on a site, and rank_by which sorts, to two levels, numerical ranking of authors contributions by media type.

This plugin will not coexist with ras_author_list nor will it replace it upon installation, so turn off author_list before you fire it up.

It could use some thorough testing to garner a little greater insight into possible improvements – so feel free to participate. Comments can be left on this article or on the forum thread.

Flattr TXP plugin

17 May 2010

Just joined Flattr for the sake of checking it out. I’m using joh_flattr in this article’s excerpt. It also seems that I was given a few extra invite keys – if anyone is interested.
